Providing life-changing opportunities in the Soweto slums

  • Kayole, Nairobi

"We rescue children dumped in the riverbank, in the compost pits, and abandoned in various parts of the slum."

Soweto Slums Good Samaritan Children Center is an orphanage located in Kayole, Nairobi. The center was started in 2004 and has made a change in the lives of more than 200 children ever since. We rescue children dumped in the riverbank, in the compost pits, and abandoned in various parts of the slum. We provide shelter, food, medical support, clothing, education, and a family to these kids.

We couldn’t just raise the kids from the river bank and leave them with a high school certificate only. Thanks to CMC Foundation, we took 12 children to various colleges. They studied practical short courses that enabled them to join the job market as soon as they finished. Now we have a fashion designer, two bakers, 3 mechanics, 2 welders, a music producer, a civil engineer, a teacher, and an electrician.

We would like to thank all the stakeholders who have contributed to the CMC Foundation and enabled them to have an impact on the lives of our children.
